Romania’s Environmental Fund Administration (AFM) has opened registration for the 2026 ‘Rabla Auto’ car scrappage scheme on August 25th, 2026, at 10:00 local time. This new phase targets drivers who were unable to participate in previous rounds of the program. A total of 93.737.000 lei (approximately €19.2 million) in unspent funds is available for this round. Drivers are required to complete specific details within 10 days of registration to be eligible. The ‘Rabla Auto’ program incentivizes the replacement of older, more polluting vehicles with newer, cleaner models.
