Former Romanian Education Minister Mircea Miclea has warned of a looming crisis in the country’s education system. He highlighted a critical lack of young teachers, noting that only 9% of educators are under the age of 30. This demographic trend signals a rapidly aging teaching workforce and potential future shortages. Miclea’s warning, reported by News.ro, emphasizes the urgent need to attract younger individuals to the profession. Without an influx of new educators, Romania risks a significant decline in the quality and availability of education. The issue stems from a lack of interest in teaching as a career path among younger generations. This situation poses a long-term threat to the stability and effectiveness of the Romanian education system.
