Archaeologists in the Czech Republic have unearthed a remarkably preserved Roman-era jar during excavations on the border of the Vyškov and Prostějov districts. The jar was discovered near a human skeleton within a previously looted Germanic grave, overlooked by the original robbers. Experts believe the artifact offers compelling evidence of Roman influence in the region, suggesting Moravia nearly became integrated into the Roman Empire. The vessel’s intact condition is particularly noteworthy, providing a rare glimpse into ancient craftsmanship and trade. The find highlights the extensive reach of the Roman Empire and the complex interactions between Roman and Germanic populations. Researchers are continuing to analyze the jar and surrounding site to gain further insights into this period of history.
