Today, World Refugee Day, is observed by nearly 1.2 million Rohingya refugees sheltering in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, alongside displaced people worldwide. These refugees reside in 33 camps in Ukhiya-Teknaf, the world’s largest refugee settlement. Many Rohingya children have never seen their homeland, as they were born after the mass displacement that began on August 25, 2017. The situation is increasingly precarious, with refugees facing uncertainty, restrictions, and a stalled repatriation process. The camps remain overcrowded, and access to essential services is limited. The ongoing crisis highlights the urgent need for durable solutions, including safe and dignified repatriation or resettlement options, for the Rohingya population. Their future remains uncertain as they continue to await a resolution to their displacement.
