Dhaka residents are facing continued price increases for essential commodities, with little relief in sight at local markets. Most vegetables are priced around 100 taka per kilogram, while green chilies have reached 400 taka per kilogram. Prices for fish, eggs, and chicken have also increased in the past week. Notably, the price of rice is on the rise, particularly the price of Polao rice, increasing by 50-60 taka per kilogram within days. This price surge adds further financial pressure on households already contending with a gas crisis. The escalating costs are creating significant hardship for consumers attempting to manage their daily expenses.
