Recent landslide protection work on the DN7 road in Romania is proving effective, according to authorities. Retention barriers installed along the Olt Valley are successfully blocking significant amounts of rocks and debris that previously posed a hazard to traffic. The Regional Directorate of Roads and Bridges (DRDP) Craiova reports the barriers are functioning as intended, preventing potential impacts with vehicles. As a result, no traffic restrictions are planned for the DN7 during August. These developments indicate a successful intervention to enhance road safety. The project aimed to mitigate risks associated with unstable slopes along this key transportation artery and appears to be achieving its goals. Further monitoring will continue to ensure continued effectiveness.
