Celebrated Bangladeshi artist and puppeteer Mustapha Monwar is currently receiving intensive care at a hospital in Dhaka. The 91-year-old has been hospitalized since May 20th and was moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on June 14th. His wife, Mary Monwar, confirmed his condition to the media on Thursday, June 19th, stating he has been suffering from various health complications for some time. He is currently under close medical observation at Square Hospital’s ICU. Monwar is a highly respected figure in Bangladeshi art, particularly known for his puppetry and painting.
