Over 7,000 sets of remains believed to be those of fallen soldiers were transported from Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat Airbase to Hanoi for DNA identification. The transfer followed a solemn ceremony honoring the soldiers. This effort aims to identify the remains and return them to their families, providing closure after decades. The remains were respectfully carried on a special flight dedicated to this purpose. DNA testing will be crucial in establishing the identities of the deceased. This is a significant step in Vietnam’s ongoing commitment to accounting for those lost during past conflicts. The process underscores the nation’s respect and remembrance of its war heroes.
