Participation in Norway’s refugee integration program decreased by 27% last year, with approximately 25,000 refugees enrolled, according to Statistics Norway. This decline is primarily attributed to a reduced influx of refugees from Ukraine, despite Ukrainians comprising 84% of program completions. The integration program aims to prepare refugees for employment or further education within Norway. Post-program, 40% of participants secured employment, while 5% continued their education, data from the Directorate of Integration and Diversity (Imdi) reveals. Participants now receive 15 hours per week of work-focused preparation. Minister of Labour and Inclusion Kjersti Stenseng considers this increased work preparation a successful initiative.
