Record investment amounting to tens of billions of Czech crowns is flowing into electricity distribution networks in the Czech Republic this year. These funds are allocated to ensuring stable electricity supplies, as well as upgrading infrastructure including power lines, substations, and distribution stations. A significant portion of the investment is also dedicated to digitalizing the electrical grid. The growth of cities and the increasing number of connection points are driving the need for this infrastructure improvement. Connection issues are already arising in areas such as South Moravia and parts of Central Bohemia. Distributors perform roughly 15,000 planned interventions on high-voltage lines annually, with almost half conducted live to avoid service interruptions for customers.
