Indonesian authorities have successfully rescued three critically endangered false gharial hatchlings in West Kalimantan province. The reptiles were found during a recent patrol conducted by the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries. False gharials, native to Borneo and Sumatra, face threats from habitat loss and hunting. These hatchlings will receive specialized care before hopefully being released back into the wild.
