Eleven police officers in Rangpur, Bangladesh have been temporarily suspended following allegations of negligence and unprofessional conduct during the assault of a local volunteer leader. The suspensions were enacted on Thursday following a departmental investigation into the incident at Kotwali Police Station. The investigation committee also recommended disciplinary action against all eleven officers involved. Those suspended include Sub-Inspectors Masud Rana and Alam, among others. The action follows accusations of failing to properly execute their duties while handling the case. Further departmental proceedings are expected based on the committee’s recommendations.
