Qantas will launch a direct flight between London and Sydney next year, marking the world’s longest commercial flight. The route will cover 16,995 kilometers and is estimated to take between 19 and 22 hours. This new service aims to reduce travel time between the two cities by up to four hours, according to Qantas. The airline announced the route via Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). This is the first time a direct flight will be available between these two major cities. The launch represents a significant development in long-haul travel options for passengers. Further details regarding ticket prices and schedules have not yet been released.
