Russian President Vladimir Poetin met with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner at the Kremlin to discuss the war in Ukraine. The envoys traveled to Moskou seeking to advance negotiations for an end to the conflict, as previously stated by US President Trump. The meeting lasted over three hours, with both sides refraining from revealing any specific agreements reached. Poetin's foreign advisor, Joeri Oesjakov, characterized the talks as "constructive, open and useful," also encompassing economic matters and potential joint projects. Poetin requested the envoys relay his greetings and gratitude to Trump, describing the situation in Oekraïne as "not simple." Following the Moskou meeting, Kushner and Witkoff are expected in Kyiv to meet with Ukrainian President Zelensky, with both Poetin and Zelensky committing to refrain from attacks on each other’s capitals during negotiations. The conflict began over four and a half years ago with a large-scale Russian invasion of Oekraïne.
