Malaysia’s National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) is expanding its financial assistance program, the PTPTN eKasih Children’s Scholarship, known as PTPTN Baek. A total of RM210 million has been allocated for the scholarship this year. This funding will enable 10,000 students from families categorized as poor or hardcore poor to pursue higher education. The PTPTN Baek scholarship aims to alleviate the financial burden on these families and promote educational opportunities. The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring equitable access to higher learning. This expansion represents a significant increase in the program’s reach and impact on vulnerable student populations.
