Scientists in Argentina have discovered fossils of a prehistoric reptile that lived over 237 million years ago, during the Late Superior Triassic period. The remains, found in Talampaya National Park, belong to a reptile measuring approximately 6 meters in length. The discovery was made by a team of researchers from the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET), the Universities of La Plata and La Rioja, the National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA), and the Bernardino Rivadavia Museum of Natural Sciences. This finding offers valuable insight into life before the age of dinosaurs. The reptile predates the dinosaurs, providing a glimpse into earlier evolutionary stages. The discovery highlights the paleontological richness of the Talampaya National Park region and contributes to a better understanding of prehistoric ecosystems. Further research is planned to analyze the fossils and learn more about this ancient creature.
