Residents of Prague’s Jižní Město district will gain access to approximately one hundred reserved parking spaces in a new parking facility near the Opatov metro station starting this autumn. The arrangement was negotiated between the Prague 11 municipal authority and the Technical Administration of Communications. This initiative addresses a significant parking shortage in Prague 11, where an estimated five thousand parking spaces are lacking. The dedicated spaces will be exclusively for local residents. This move aims to alleviate parking difficulties for those living in the densely populated area. Details regarding the allocation process for these reserved spaces have not yet been released. The new parking house is a P+R (Park and Ride) facility, suggesting it also serves commuters.
