Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) is experiencing significant power disruptions due to low gas pressure affecting electricity supply. The Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC) has scheduled five hours of load shedding per day for the university. This consists of three hours of power cuts during the day and two hours at night. The schedule was announced via an urgent notice from BUET’s chief engineer’s office on Sunday. The power outages are a direct result of broader electricity shortages impacting the region. This disruption is expected to affect academic activities and daily operations at the university. The DPDC has not specified a timeframe for when normal power supply will be restored.
