Portuguese technology company Tekever has secured a contract with Phoenix Heli-Flight to deploy its drones for wildfire detection in Canada. The agreement will see Tekever drones utilized to identify and monitor forest fires across Canadian territory. This marks a significant expansion for the company, as it currently does not operate similar wildfire detection systems within Portugal itself. The drones will enhance Canada’s existing wildfire management capabilities by providing early detection and real-time situational awareness. Details of the contract, including financial terms and the number of drones involved, were not immediately disclosed. This initiative aims to improve response times and mitigate the impact of increasingly frequent and severe wildfires in Canada. The deployment is expected to begin in the near future, coinciding with the peak wildfire season.
