Pope Leon XIV experienced an unexpected travel disruption during his return journey from Tenerife to Rome on Friday. An engine failure was detected on the aircraft intended for the pontiff's flight. Media representatives on the scene observed King Felipe VI arriving at the aircraft following the incident. Shortly thereafter, the Pope disembarked from the faulty plane. To ensure his safe return to the Vatican, alternative transportation was arranged. The head of the Catholic Church ultimately flew back using a Falcon aircraft provided by the Spanish Air Force.
