Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), a common hormonal disorder affecting women, frequently goes undiagnosed despite impacting as many as 15% of the female population. Symptoms of PCOS can include excessive hair growth in atypical areas, irregular menstrual cycles, acne, weight gain, and difficulty conceiving. The syndrome is a lifelong condition requiring proper medical management due to associated health risks. Despite its prevalence – comparable to that of migraine – awareness of PCOS remains low. This lack of recognition often leads to delayed or missed diagnoses. Effective treatment is crucial for managing symptoms and preventing potential complications linked to the condition. Increased awareness and improved diagnostic procedures are needed to address this widespread health issue.
