A Warsaw court has ruled in favor of Roman Giertych in a defamation case against Zbigniew Ziobro, ordering the former Justice Minister to issue a public apology. Ziobro must apologize for statements concerning Giertych’s alleged involvement in the Polnord affair, with the apologies to be broadcast for seven days on TV Republika and its YouTube channel. The court also ordered Ziobro to pay Giertych 30,000 złoty in damages. The dispute between the two politicians resurfaced during Ziobro’s recent testimony before the parliamentary committee investigating the Pegasus spyware scandal. Giertych, a politician with the Civic Coalition (KO), announced the court’s decision, publicly addressing Ziobro with a call to return to Poland. The ruling marks a significant development in the ongoing legal battle between the two prominent Polish figures.
