Police in Äänekoski have released a man linked to the Sinimusta Liike (Blue Movement) from pre-trial detention. The man, a parliamentary candidate for the Sinimusta Liike, is suspected of explosion-related crimes. Investigators allege the 44-year-old constructed various weapons and weapon parts, as well as manufacturing gunpowder and explosives at his home in Äänekoski. He was initially detained last week on suspicion of preparing a severe crime against life or health, and for the explosion offense. However, the ongoing investigation has not revealed any indications that the man intended to commit crimes against individuals or groups. The police have now disclosed the findings regarding the materials discovered at the candidate’s residence.
