The Wabag District Development Authority (WDDA) in Papua New Guinea is investing in its youth through a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program. One hundred and thirty trainees, sponsored by the WDDA and trained by Mapex Training Institute, are set to graduate on August 28, 2026. The initiative aims to address both a growing youth population and a lack of employment opportunities within the Wabag district. Member of Parliament Dr. Lino Tom envisions the program as a key component in improving law and order by positively engaging young people. This TVET program provides skills development, offering a pathway to sustainable livelihoods for the trainees.
