A new Flexible Open and Distance Education (FODE) centre has opened in Kerowagi District, Chimbu Province, Papua New Guinea, offering a vital opportunity for students to complete their education. The Gena FODE centre will allow hundreds of students who previously dropped out of school to finish Grades 10 and 12 without relocating. This initiative provides crucial access to education within their own communities, removing barriers related to distance and cost. Minister Siune has committed K500,000 to support the centre’s operations. The funding will assist with resources and infrastructure needed for the program’s success. This centre represents a significant investment in providing educational pathways for PNG citizens.
