Philosopher S.Molor-Erdene is currently held in one-month pre-trial detention under Article 19.9 of the Criminal Code, related to alleged incitement to undermine national unity in Mongolia. The Minister of Justice and Home Affairs, S.Amarsaikhan, addressed the situation, stating his duty to investigate any serious matter concerning the country’s security and core interests. He emphasized that investigating procedures fall under the jurisdiction of law enforcement agencies, and that national security is not a matter for arbitrary discussion. S.Amarsaikhan warned that dividing society can lead to the erosion of family values and eventually, denial of the state, ultimately endangering the nation's history, values, and the faith of future generations. The Minister affirmed he would not stand by while such attempts occur and has instructed a legal investigation into S.Molor-Erdene’s motives and circumstances, with any detention decisions ultimately resting with the judiciary under prosecutorial oversight.
