A new day-care unit for oncology patients, named after Nikos Kourkoulos, is under construction at the Rio General Hospital in Greece. The unit is being funded entirely through a donation from Marianna Latsis. Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis expressed gratitude to Latsis for her contribution, stating it will significantly extend the hospital’s operational lifespan by approximately 20 years. Construction is expected to be completed by February 2027. The new facility will provide crucial care for cancer patients in the region. This donation represents a substantial investment in local healthcare infrastructure. The project aims to improve access to oncology services and enhance patient care.
