Galarreta stated from day one they were determined to apprehend the group’s members. The arrest signals a significant development in the government’s efforts to combat organized crime. Officials anticipate further arrests will follow this initial success. The executive branch also used the opportunity to reiterate its request for legislative powers from Congress, suggesting these are necessary to further strengthen the fight against crime.
