Police in Pattaya, Thailand, have arrested three suspects involved in a call-centre scam that preyed on individuals who had previously been victims of fraud. The operation, raided by officers from Provincial Police Region 2, allegedly involved impersonating cybercrime officers. Suspects promised to help victims recover lost funds, but were in fact attempting to defraud them further. The raid took place at a suspected office location in Pattaya. Pol. Maj. Gen. Kiatisak Srathongoi, commander of the region’s investigation division, led the police operation. This bust highlights a concerning trend of scammers targeting those already vulnerable from prior fraudulent activity. The investigation is ongoing to determine the full extent of the operation and identify any further accomplices.
