After 220 years, the west pediment of the Parthenon has been fully restored, according to Greek Culture Minister Lina Mendoni. The completion restores the architectural unity of the structure, which had been visibly incomplete for generations of both Greeks and international visitors. Mendoni described the sight as “truly awe-inspiring.” The restoration project involved meticulous work to reintegrate fragmented sculptural elements and reconstruct missing sections of the pediment. This milestone marks a significant achievement in the ongoing conservation efforts at the Acropolis. The restored pediment offers a more complete representation of the ancient monument’s original design and artistic grandeur. The project aims to preserve and showcase Greece’s cultural heritage for future generations.
