A delegation from the Technological University of Panama recently traveled to South Korea to advance their technical expertise. The group, consisting of three researchers and six students, focused on developing specialized methodologies and tools. Their primary goal is to accurately estimate emissions produced by maritime vessels. This initiative aims to support the global transition toward more sustainable shipping practices. By strengthening these capacities, Panama seeks to better manage its environmental impact on the seas. The collaboration leverages South Korea's advanced technological infrastructure to empower Panamanian academics. Ultimately, these efforts will help implement effective strategies to reduce the carbon footprint of the shipping industry.
