Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye have signed a landmark joint defence agreement, the “Makkah Joint Defence Agreement,” to bolster regional security. The pact, signed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, aims to strengthen collective deterrence against aggression. Any attack on one nation will be considered an attack on all three. The agreement encompasses enhanced defence cooperation across all areas, signalling a shared commitment to peace and stability. The signing occurred during Prime Minister Sharif’s official visit to Saudi Arabia, even amidst rising Gulf tensions.
