The ministry issued the statement following a CNN interview with Imran Khan’s aide, Zulfi Bukhari, addressing what it deemed “misleading stories.” Officials clarified that Khan is being held based on convictions following judicial proceedings, not under executive detention, and retains full legal recourse. The statement asserts Khan is not facing punitive solitary confinement or mistreatment, and has access to amenities like visits, phone calls, and even home-cooked meals. His accommodations include a dedicated seven-cell compound with exercise facilities. The ministry highlighted extensive visitation records, including regular meetings with his wife and numerous interactions with family, lawyers, and political representatives, dismissing allegations of denied access.
