Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi affirmed his country’s commitment to fostering lasting peace in the Middle East during a meeting with Iranian counterpart Eskandar Momeni. The discussion followed a recent visit by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and the signing of an agreement between the US and Iran aimed at de-escalating regional conflict. Both ministers expressed satisfaction with the recent de-escalation and congratulated each other on the progress made in Swiss talks. Naqvi lauded Iran’s efforts in achieving the agreement, reiterating Pakistan’s long-standing desire for global peace and stability. The two nations agreed to expand cooperation in areas such as security, counter-terrorism, cybersecurity, and immigration, with Momeni announcing a forthcoming visit to Pakistan. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif previously stated Pakistan and Iran would jointly work to safeguard regional peace.
