Pakistani security forces have killed 21 militants in North Waziristan over the past 72 hours during ongoing intelligence-based operations, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The operations, concentrated in the Miranshah area, resulted in the deaths of four identified terrorist leaders affiliated with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which the government refers to as “Fitna al-Khawarij.” The ISPR stated the slain individuals were responsible for attacks targeting both security personnel and civilians. This brings the total number of terrorists killed in the region to 48 within the last two weeks. Weapons and ammunition were recovered during the engagements. The military asserts these operations are part of a broader counterterrorism effort, “Azm-i-Istehkam,” aimed at eliminating foreign-sponsored terrorism within Pakistan. Authorities have imposed Section 144 in the district, restricting public gatherings indefinitely, as sanitisation operations continue.
