Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar stated that the nation is gaining international recognition as a peacemaker due to its recent mediation efforts between the United States and Iran. Dar highlighted a shift in global perception, noting Pakistan was previously considered diplomatically isolated but is now a subject of worldwide discussion. He positioned Pakistan as a growing “middle power” with an increasingly active role in international diplomacy, while emphasizing the need to strengthen its economic standing. Dar referenced the country’s past economic successes under PML-N leadership between 2013-2017, contrasting them with a subsequent decline in economic ranking. He acknowledged inheriting a challenging economic situation but expressed optimism about current efforts to restore growth and public welfare. The minister indicated the recent federal budget reflects the severity of the economic crisis inherited by the current administration and the time required for recovery.
