Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, met with Turkish Land Forces Commander General Metin Tokel to discuss strengthening defence cooperation between the two nations. The meeting at General Headquarters (GHQ) focused on professional interests, regional security, and expanding bilateral ties. Both leaders emphasized the long-standing cultural, historical, and strategic relationship between Pakistan and Turkey, acknowledging the existing strong defence partnership. General Tokel also met with the Chief of Naval Staff and Chief of Air Staff, addressing maritime security and air force cooperation respectively. He praised the Pakistan Armed Forces’ professionalism and contributions to regional stability, reaffirming Turkey’s commitment to enhanced collaboration. The visit included a guard of honour presentation for the Turkish commander, signifying the importance of the relationship.
