The final diplomatic pouch containing ballots from Peruvian citizens abroad has arrived in Peru, completing the collection of electoral materials. This delivery, received from Argentina, represents votes cast in approximately 71 countries across five continents. The materials originate from over 2,500 polling stations established internationally for the June 7th election day. Peru’s National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) is now in possession of all overseas votes. These ballots will be included in the overall count for the 2026 elections. The arrival signifies a crucial step in finalizing the results and ensuring representation for Peruvians living abroad. The ONPE has not yet announced a timeline for the official tally of these international votes.
