The Civic Democratic Party (ODS) achieved success in the Czech Senate elections, winning in seven electoral districts. This victory ensures the party will maintain its position as the strongest senatorial club, alongside TOP 09. Moreover, the ODS will retain the position of Chairman of the upper house of Parliament, currently held by Miloš Vystrčil. The results offer a boost in morale for the party following recent municipal elections. Party Chairman Martin Kupka confidently declared, “We will not give them the Senate,” upon arriving at the ODS headquarters. The outcome signifies a strengthening of the opposition’s influence within Czech political institutions.
