A popular Taiwanese snack stall frequented by NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has been found to be using Rhodamine B, a prohibited food dye, in its products. The dye was detected in "fa gao" (發粿), a traditional Taiwanese steamed rice cake, sold at the shop. Health officials have confirmed the presence of the substance and initiated investigations into the source of the contamination. Experts warn that Rhodamine B consumption can potentially damage the liver and kidneys. The stall has been temporarily shut down as authorities work to determine the extent of the issue and prevent further distribution of contaminated products. This incident raises concerns about food safety standards and oversight in Taiwan, particularly regarding additives used in local delicacies. Huang, a frequent customer, has not yet commented on the situation.
