Negotiations between Norwegian railway operators Vy and CargoNet, and labor organizations LO and Spekter, have failed to reach an agreement regarding wage settlements. The dispute will now proceed to mediation, impacting members of the Norwegian Railway Workers' Union and the Norwegian Locomotive Engineers' Association (NLF) within Vy, as well as NLF members at CargoNet. Both companies fall under sector 7 of Spekter, encompassing railway companies in Norway. A mediation date has not yet been set, but it will occur after the summer holiday period. Failure to reach a resolution during mediation could result in a strike affecting rail services. The outcome of the mediation will determine whether disruptions to Norway’s rail network will occur this autumn. This impacts both passenger and freight rail transport.
