The municipality of Os, Norway, is projected to be formally placed on the national ROBEK register – a watchlist for financially struggling municipalities – by the summer of 2026. This decision follows a vote on the 2025 annual financial statement, revealing a total overspending exceeding three percent of gross operating revenues. The adoption of the budget effectively triggers the municipality’s inclusion on the list, according to local officials. The ROBEK register is a governmental tool for financial monitoring and oversight. Currently, four municipalities in the Innlandet county are already on the ROBEK list: Eidskog, Grue, Vestre Toten, and Åsnes. The move signals a challenging economic situation for Os and increased scrutiny of its finances.
