Norway’s security service, PST, has closed its investigation into threats made against the leader of the Labour Youth League (AUF), Gaute Skjervø. The decision stems from PST’s assessment that the statements made against Skjervø do not meet the threshold for criminal prosecution. Skjervø received a significant volume of threats after publicly criticizing the far-right website Document. The AUF reported multiple threats to the police, prompting the initial investigation. This marks the second time PST has dropped an investigation into threats targeting Skjervø. PST stated, through acting head of investigation Nina Bakken, that the reported statements were not deemed punishable offenses. The decision has raised questions about the handling of threats against political figures in Norway.
