Health Minister Jan Christian Vestre has pledged to improve healthcare services for transgender individuals. Speaking at a memorial for the June 25 terror attacks, Vestre admitted that current care has been insufficient and promised that accessible help must be guaranteed for all. This commitment comes amid a significant scandal involving researchers at Oslo University Hospital. Those researchers were recently found guilty of gross negligence for using patient data without consent in articles regarding transgender people. Vestre emphasized that the government must take responsibility to restore trust in the health system. He stated that the current standard of care is unacceptable and requires immediate action. The minister vowed that the state will work to ensure better outcomes for the community.
