Norway has announced a contribution of 3.1 billion kroner to the African Development Fund (ADF). The funding is designated for the period between 2026 and 2028. These resources will be directed toward the 37 poorest countries on the African continent. The primary objective of the grant is to strengthen state institutions and improve economic governance. Development Minister Åsmund Aukrust emphasized that stable employment and decent working conditions are the most effective ways to escape poverty. He noted that the ADF is a critical partner in achieving these goals due to its high legitimacy among African nations. The announcement was made official via a government press release.
