Costa Rican prosecutors have filed charges against five individuals accused in the June 19th murder of Nicaraguan dissident Roberto Samcam Ruiz. The killing occurred at Samcam’s home in Moravia, San José. Court documents reveal the alleged hitman referred to Samcam as “Roberto” before shooting him nine times. The Fiscalía Adjunta del II Circuito Judicial de San José presented the formal accusation, detailing this key element of the alleged crime. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the accused, citing ongoing investigation protocols. The case has drawn attention due to Samcam’s outspoken criticism of the Nicaraguan government prior to his death. Further legal proceedings are expected as the investigation continues.
