The release is the result of a lawsuit brought by 9/11 Health Watch, a victims’ advocacy group, after city officials initially claimed the documents were unavailable, but were later found. The group alleges that four mayoral administrations concealed the dangers of toxic chemicals in Lower Manhattan and Western Brooklyn, while publicly assuring residents the air was safe.
