Jiří Sysel has been appointed head of Kordis, the public transport coordinating company for the South Moravian region of the Czech Republic. He succeeds Jiří Horský, who held the position for nearly 25 years. Sysel brings extensive experience in the rail sector, having previously worked for Czech Railways and the Railway Administration since 1995. Upon assuming his new role, Sysel immediately addressed the current limitations of electric bus technology. He stated that no currently available electric bus model is capable of reliably completing regional routes within the South Moravian region. This suggests a potential challenge in the region’s transition to electric public transportation. Sysel’s appointment marks a shift in leadership and a focus on practical considerations for modernizing public transport.
