The New Ireland Provincial Government has provided K300,000 to New Hanover High School (NHHS) located on Lovongai island. This funding is earmarked for the completion of a new boys’ dormitory, replacing the original structure which was destroyed by Cyclone Maila in April. Governor Byron Chan presented the cheque to Ian Kusak, Chairman of the Provincial Executive Council for Primary Industry. The funds will be deposited into the school's operating account to facilitate the infrastructure project. This support aims to address the critical need for student housing following the cyclone’s damage. The assistance demonstrates the government’s commitment to rebuilding educational facilities in New Ireland Province and ensuring students have adequate accommodation. The project’s completion will positively impact the educational environment at New Hanover High School.
