A new cellular communication tower has been established in Sha-Nur, a settlement in the northern West Bank, amidst ongoing concerns regarding potential evacuations of settlements. The installation is presented as part of a broader effort to strengthen and develop the settlements in the region. Minister Smotrich stated the tower’s construction is a direct response to potential evacuation orders, framing it as a countermeasure to actions taken by former officials Bennett and Eisenkot. Yosef Dagan, a settlement leader, connected the tower to a larger plan to “correct the disengagement,” referencing the 2005 withdrawal from Gaza, through the establishment of 18 new settlements, road construction, infrastructure improvements, and strengthening ties between Israeli citizens and Zionist ideals. The move aims to improve communication infrastructure for residents and signal a commitment to continued settlement expansion. The project highlights the political tensions surrounding the future of settlements in the West Bank.
